assessment with the aim of converting the existing hostel to meet
the prescriptive requirements of the new BCA class 9c - 'Aged Care
Building' classification, on a voluntary basis. A fire safety
upgrade focussing on fire and smoke compartmentation, egress and
sprinkler protection were the main targets of the assessment.
