Industrial Estates
HENDRY have been involved in many inspections on
industrial estates on behalf of prospective buyers to establish
compliance with building legislation and the Building Code of Australia requirements
for the era of its construction. The main focus being to ascertain
the buildings compliance and risk areas due to its various
occupiers. The estates and sites generally incorporate different
uses from warehouse storage to office and mechanical workshop areas
to manufacturing. The main issues highlighted from our inspections
include sprinkler coverage, egress paths being blocked and fire
separation. Generally as a result of storage racking being
installed by each occupier the problem arises with the occupancy
hazards changing and sprinkler coverage not being provided. Racking
systems installed also block paths of travel and exit doors.
